From July 19 to 22, the San Pellegrino Village in Misano Adriatico hosted over 40 children and young people with visual disabilities for the Play Sport Camp, a charitable initiative promoted by Inter and the Italian Sports Center. Now in its fifth edition, the experience focused on inclusion and sport, offering educational opportunities to those who have the most difficulty approaching physical activity.
This year, the camp was organized in collaboration with ASD Real Eyes Sport, an association founded by Daniele Cassioli, Paralympic athlete and world champion in water skiing. The organization is dedicated to sports and recreational-motor activities for blind and visually impaired people, with the aim of bringing movement into the daily lives of those with visual disabilities.
The participants, aged between 4 and 14, spent four intense days together with their families. The program included multi-sport activities, educational moments, play areas, and opportunities for autonomy in aquatic and outdoor spaces. The various sports stations allowed the young people to challenge themselves in multiple disciplines.
Inter and CSI coaches accompanied the children, supported by educators and guides, in discovering football: from the first contact with the ball to the importance of teamwork. The experience confirmed how collaboration between different organizations can generate a concrete impact, using sport as a tool for integration and growth.
The Misano camp was part of a broader week of activities, from July 18 to 25, dedicated to young people with visual disabilities. Since the first edition in 2022, the Play Sport Camp has involved over 1,700 children and young people in Chiavari, Assisi, Arezzo, and Messina, creating workshops on inclusion and education aimed at minors in situations of social vulnerability. The project is part of “CSI Pro – The sport that makes us grow,” which aims to build a more inclusive society through collaboration between grassroots and professional sports.
