During the last summer transfer window, one of the best signings for Inter was without a doubt Manuel Akanji. The Swiss defender immediately made his quality and experience available to Chivu and the whole team, qualities that led him to win everything while wearing the Manchester City jersey.

Now the Nerazzurri management is thinking of replicating this great move with a signing of a similar profile who resembles him in many ways. According to the British media outlet CaughtOffside, in 2026 there will be another top-level defender leaving Manchester City. This is Nathan Aké, a Dutch center-back born in 1995.

Aké in fact has a contract expiring in 2027, so 2026 will be the last year in which Manchester City will have the chance to cash in on his departure. He is being tracked by Inter, Juventus, and Crystal Palace for a requested price of around 30 million euros. With Akanji, for Inter, he would share both the club of origin and the year of birth.
