Romero and Spence, the path goes through a loan for the Argentine

Tottenham has opened a direct channel with Inter to discuss two players. According to Corriere dello Sport, the Nerazzurri have asked for information about Djed Spence, targeted for Chivu’s right flank, and the Spurs have broadened the discussion to include Cristian Romero, a defender who has already expressed his desire to leave London.

A double deal would allow both the flanks and the defense to be strengthened, but the costs represent a significant obstacle. For Spence, the asking price exceeds 30 million euros, tending towards 40, a figure well above Khalaili’s valuation. For Romero, the starting price is 40 million, approaching 50, an amount higher than what Chelsea is asking for Chalobah, a deal that was abandoned precisely because of the excessive figures.

The fact that the dialogue between Milan and London has not been immediately interrupted leaves room for possible developments. However, the possibility of spending around eighty million for both players is excluded. A feasible solution could only come if Tottenham accepted a loan for the Argentine, a formula that would make the deal possible. In the coming days, the direction of the negotiations will become clearer.

Romero‘s desire to change teams forces the Spurs to look for a solution, and Inter would be a welcome destination for the defender, who knows Serie A very well after three years spent between Genoa and Atalanta, before moving to London five seasons ago.

Even Spence, although not speaking publicly, would be very open to a transfer. Not feeling central to De Zerbi‘s plans, the winger would consider Inter a suitable destination.
