Inter is preparing a new bid for Moussa Diaby. There are three weeks left until the transfer window closes and the right wing is the absolute priority for the Nerazzurri, who have been left without a starter after the departure of Denzel Dumfries. Despite the good performances of Andy Diouf in preseason, Chivu and the management agree on the need for a specific reinforcement for that role.
According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, the Frenchman remains at the top of Inter’s target list. The first offer to Al-Ittihad was around 20 million plus the transfer of Kristjan Asllani, but it met with resistance from the Saudi club, which was not interested in the technical counterpart. Meanwhile, competition has also emerged from Bayer Leverkusen, who are willing to offer only cash.
The detail that could favor Inter is related to the player’s position. Diaby, who played for Crotone years ago and played with Bayer Leverkusen from 2019 to 2023 before moving to Aston Villa, has not yet accepted the Germans’ offer. This hesitation from the 27-year-old could open a decisive window for the Nerazzurri.
The coming days, up to Ferragosto, could prove crucial. The club is ready to make a new offer to convince the Jeddah club and bring to Milan the winger so eagerly awaited by Chivu. Meanwhile, throughout the summer preparations, Luis Henrique and especially Diouf have alternated on the right wing, with Diouf also scoring several goals in that position, including the last one against Juve in the final test in Perth.
Diouf himself has repeatedly stated that this is not his natural position, a fact well known to his coach. The experiment of the Frenchman on the wing has patched up the emergency, but the role can only be definitively covered through the transfer market.
