Inter continues to closely follow Curtis Jones, the Liverpool midfielder whose contract expires in less than a year. The English player missed yesterday’s friendly against Monaco, officially due to a hip problem, but according to La Gazzetta dello Sport, his absence has fueled rumors of a possible departure.
Jones remains Chivu‘s favorite as a reinforcement in midfield, thanks to his characteristics and versatility that make him an ideal profile. Young but with European experience and several trophies to his name, the midfielder does not intend to renew with the Reds, who, however, continue to value him at 40 million euros.
The situation is complex, also due to the numerical issues to be resolved in midfield. The newspaper again mentions a possible departure of Stankovic in case of a big offer and recalls the presence of Frattesi and Asllani, considered surplus. Meanwhile, not only Moussa Diaby: Jones’s name remains in Inter’s sights, but the right departures will be needed to unlock the deal.
