After the decay last January decided by the current Italian government, the Growth Decree has been discussed in the Senate in the last few hours. In fact, an amendment was presented by Forza Italia requesting the extension of the decree until 2027, probably pushed by senators and top-level executives such as Adriano Galliani and Claudio Lotito.

As we know, the Growth Decree had become a fundamental tool from 2020 to 2023 for all clubs, which indeed provided for a 50% tax exemption for workers coming from abroad. Inter, for example, benefited from its effects on the wages of numerous football players and had publicly opposed its cancellation.

If the request currently under discussion in the Senate was accepted, the return of the Growth Decree would again modify the strategies of companies on the market. Inter, for example, could dream again of signing top-level free agents, despite some restrictions imposed by Oaktree.

Among the main targets of the black and blue club for next summer are Jonathan Tah and Jonathan David. Both with contracts expiring at the end of the season, they could result in even greater savings in terms of gross wage thanks to the benefits of the Growth Decree.

At that point, why not dream of targets that now seem to go beyond Inter’s financial capabilities, but that would make complete sense with halved taxation. From Alexander-Arnold, passing through Sané, Salah, De Bruyne and many others: moves that today are only in the realm of science fiction, but that a tool like the Growth Decree could ‘normalize’ for the Italian championship.
