Here we are, just a few hours away from the highly anticipated Derby della Madonnina. Tonight, with the opening whistle at 20.45, Inter and Milan will face off in a sold-out San Siro, mostly filled with Nerazzurri colors.

For Simone Inzaghi, this is an opportunity to win his sixth consecutive derby, and also take advantage of yesterday’s draw between Juventus and Napoli to advance in the ranking. Different prospects for Paulo Fonseca, who mainly needs a good performance from his team to keep his seat on the Rossoneri bench.

Milan could show up for the match with a novel formation to try to surprise the Nerazzurri, that is, with a 4-4-2 with Leao and Pulisic on the wings and the attacking duo composed of Morata and Abraham. A setup to which Inzaghi intends to respond with a tactical novelty in the offensive phase.

As reiterated by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter will see Federico Dimarco from the start after last week’s hamstring strain. As seen somewhat in the poker on Atalanta, the Nerazzurri winger should act as an additional attacker on the line with Lautaro and Thuram, with that arc movement that has troubled Gasperini’s defenders. A consolidated axis with Bastoni who should thus transform from third central to a real exterior, shifting the entire team to the left.
