Another piece of news has emerged from the headquarters on Viale della Liberazione in recent hours: Inter’s incoming transfer market is closed in light of Luis Henrique‘s stay. Roma, in fact, has chosen to focus on Oosterwolde and would have dropped the Brazilian, who is still liked in the Premier League.
Whether this is true or just a white lie will only be clear on September 2, but the feeling remains that the Nerazzurri club will try to do something. Because there is numerical space in the squad – with the departures of Massolin and Asllani (who will leave on loan), Inter would have 24 players, thus having the opportunity to add a player even to the UEFA list – and because Chivu has always hoped, since his arrival in the summer of 2025, to have an offensive wildcard, a player capable of bringing unpredictability, beating his man, and creating chances in moments of stalemate.
The Nerazzurri will have to manage the playing time of the players: with seven midfielders and four forwards, the risk is that a fifth forward could take away space from someone, possibly creating discontent and consequently complicating Chivu’s management.
According to Tuttosport, there are two ways to strengthen Inter: either a low-cost signing, a loan of a player on the fringes at his club – and the thought goes to two players, Chiesa from Liverpool (but the Italian would like to stay) or Perisic on sale from Psv (but Ausilio ruled him out a few weeks ago). Or, with the sale of Luis Henrique or Bonny (there are still some rumors around the Ivorian, but an offer of 35-40 million would be needed), the investment in a player of greater caliber.
A surprise cannot be ruled out: the name of Martinelli from Arsenal continues to circulate (with Inzaghi‘s Al-Hilal putting strong pressure on him), but it cannot be excluded that Marotta, Ausilio, and Baccin have a “Mister X” up their sleeves who has never emerged.
