Inter is looking to the future of its goalkeeping position and has set its sights on Lorenzo Palmisani, the 2004-born goalkeeper from Frosinone. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, the Nerazzurri have started monitoring the young shot-stopper, who has been one of the revelations of the early rounds of Serie A.
Palmisani‘s profile fits exactly the market parameters followed by Inter’s management and Oaktree: young but already experienced, Italian, and ready to make the leap in quality. However, the negotiation is still in its early, almost embryonic stage, even though there is a lot of attention on the player.
Juventus has also made a move for the goalkeeper, setting up a potential transfer battle between the two clubs. Before Palmisani, Inter had been following Alessandro Romano from Cagliari, another young goalkeeper.
There are several possible scenarios: the Nerazzurri could buy the goalkeeper and leave him on loan at Frosinone to complete his development, or bring him immediately to Milan to grow as the backup to Josep Martinez, the current starter after the departure of Yann Sommer. At the moment, Ivan Provedel serves as the second-choice goalkeeper.
Frosinone, to protect and enhance the value of its player, has recently renewed Palmisani’s contract until 2031. The Ciociari club aims to maintain the goalkeeper’s high-level performances and then open an auction next season. Inter and Juventus have been warned.
