Henry: There’s one thing no one says about Inzaghi.

Although he is not celebrated as much as he deserves in Italy, abroad Simone Inzaghi‘s name is starting to draw considerable attention. Former formidable striker Thierry Henry, for example, has never hidden his admiration for the Inter coach and for the incredible game structure built with his players. From the CBS television studios, during last night’s Round of 16 match, the Frenchman once again emphasized his appreciation.

Here are Henry‘s words on Inzaghi: Inter look in control of the situation even when they defend deep. Look at the match against Arsenal—they defended deep without conceding many opportunities. People always talk about the players, but rarely do they talk about the coach. Inzaghi is exceptional for what he offers tactically: when you see the central defenders positioned at midfield, the left wing-back so high up the pitch, the central defender crossing the ball into the box for another central defender, or midfielders dropping deep to move the ball forward… I haven’t seen this very often throughout football history, particularly in Italy. This is a team and a coach who deserve equal respect.
