Gran Gala of Football AIC, eight Nerazzurri in the running for the awards

The Teatro alla Scala in Milan will host tonight, starting at 7 pm, the AIC Football Grand Gala 2026. During the evening, the main awards of Italian football for the 2025-2026 season will be assigned, voted directly by the players, with the exception of the ‘Vote the Goal’ award, reserved for fans.

Several Inter players are in the running to be included in the ideal formation from which the Absolute Best of the season will be chosen. In addition to captain Lautaro Martinez, the candidates also include Akanji, Bastoni, Dimarco, former player Dumfries, Çalhanoglu, Zielinski, and Thuram.

Cristian Chivu will compete for the ‘Coach of the Year’ award against Cesc Fabregas and Gian Piero Gasperini. Special awards are also planned for Referee of the Year, Club of the Year, Best Young Player in Serie B, and Best Young Player in Serie A.

As Corriere dello Sport recalls, the 2026 edition will pay tribute to the twentieth anniversary of Italy’s victory at the 2006 World Cup in Germany, with a special celebration dedicated to the protagonists of that historic achievement.
