Alberto Gilardino is preparing for his debut on the Parma bench with a task that is anything but simple. On October 10th, the Ducali will play at San Siro against Inter, in a match that the new coach presented to the microphones of Sky Sport with great respect but also with a proactive spirit.

“They are very strong, both in Italy and in Europe, it’s a team we all know,” said Gila speaking about the Nerazzurri. “We must have a strong DNA, a strong identity, and a marked individual ambition. If we have these characteristics, which must not turn into arrogance, they will lead us to excellent performances and, therefore, to achieve positive results.”

The coach emphasized the importance of the mental approach: “I believe that Parma must be ambitious but not arrogant. We must have great humility, but also ambition.” Starting Monday, the team will have the whole week to prepare for the trip to Milan, a time that Gilardino intends to make the most of.

Excited to return to the city where he made his name as a player, the coach explained: “I return in a different role, today I feel I must be a great conductor.” After four training sessions in charge of the group, the balance is positive: “I found a team that gave me maximum availability, and I also saw great initiative. I believe that as a start, this is fundamental.”

The work philosophy is clear: “We will need to lay brick after brick to improve together, I believe this will be our mantra. We will have to be good at giving continuity. If we are good at always improving, performances and results will come.”
