Inter has activated the unilateral clause to extend Federico Dimarco‘s contract until June 2028. This was also confirmed by Marotta, and according to Tuttosport it is a necessary move — without it, the winger would have been out of contract in June — which formally opens the way for negotiations for a definitive extension.
For this renewal, Dimarco has changed agents, turning to Arturo Canales and Alessandro Renzi. An initial face-to-face meeting with Canales has already taken place in Madrid, during the Champions League evening that saw Real Madrid and Inter face off: relations between the parties are described as positive.
The central issue concerns the contractual parameters imposed by Oaktree. The new model provides for a reduced fixed part, compensated by substantial bonuses linked to individual and team performance, following the model already used in American sports. Dimarco, and not only him, will have to accept this arrangement in order to sign.
Facilitating the agreement, according to Tuttosport, is the player’s desire to remain forever tied to the club he has always supported. Meanwhile, the first of the big names to extend will be Carlos Augusto, who is now close to signing a contract until 2031.
