Ausilio, last act as Nerazzurri sporting director: the renewal of Pio Esposito

According to Tuttosport, September 1st was in fact the last working day of Piero Ausilio as sporting director of Inter, after twenty-eight years spent at the club in various roles. The last deal completed by the now former Nerazzurri executive concerned the renewal of Pio Esposito, which was then made official on September 6th with a contract until 2032.

The signing of the young striker represents a legacy for the future of the club. At the beginning of the summer, Inter had rejected several inquiries and offers coming from the Premier League for Esposito, deciding to secure him with a new long-term agreement.

During the summer, Ausilio had concluded other important negotiations in addition to the one-year extension for Mkhitaryan. On July 29th, Bisseck‘s contract was extended until 2031, thus securing the German who was being followed by Bayern Munich. On September 1st, with the transfer window now closed, the long-awaited signing of Pio Esposito arrived, the last piece of Ausilio’s work before the end of his long Nerazzurri experience.
