Inter is working on renewing Hakan Çalhanoğlu‘s contract, but the path appears to be uphill. According to Il Giornale, one of the first moves by Baccin as the new head of the technical area will be to secure the Turkish midfielder, extending the current agreement until 2029.
Çalhanoğlu‘s contract expires in 2027 and the Nerazzurri club intends to keep him. Talks for a renewal are reportedly already underway between the parties, with the club wanting to secure the player for another three years.
The most delicate issue concerns the salary. The Turk currently earns 6.5 million euros per year plus bonuses and aims to maintain these figures. Inter, on the other hand, would like to slightly reduce his salary, creating a gap that could slow down a quick and smooth agreement.
