Ausilio in tears at Pinetina, the farewell to Inter

Last night Ausilio attended the Gran Galà del calcio together with Baccin, with Inter as the star of the evening. Today he will be at the Pinetina to say goodbye to the players, Chivu and his staff, along with all the personnel. It’s likely there will be a few tears: it seems his eyes were already moist on Monday during the renewal of Esposito, his last act as an Inter executive.

The split happened in twelve hours: rumors in the morning, then the official confirmation. At the same time, the new sporting director was announced, Baccin, Ausilio’s deputy as well as his friend. Later on, it will become clear whether another figure will be added, perhaps from abroad.

Ausilio has been through many moments at Inter, staying with the club through three changes of ownership. He was there with Moratti and with Thohir, with Zhang and now with Oaktree. He was there in the days of the Treble and in the difficult moments, when trophies were missing for a long time. There were signings like Lautaro, Lukaku, Barella, Bastoni, Hakimi, plus Thuram and Calhanoglu on free transfers.
