Ausilio evaluates other options after Chelsea's demands for Chalobah

Inter is moving cautiously on the Chalobah front. The Nerazzurri club has made it clear that they do not want to participate in bidding wars for the Chelsea defender, while Ausilio is also carefully considering alternative profiles.

According to Corriere dello Sport, closing the deal quickly would not bring any particular advantages. The competition from Como, which had made two offers within a few days, seems to have lost momentum recently. The Lariani appear to have shifted their attention to other targets.

The 30 million proposed by Como, including fixed and bonus parts, still represents the threshold below which it would not make sense to submit an offer. Chelsea has already made it clear they are asking for at least 35. This is where Piero Ausilio’s reflections begin, as he weighs the risks of a possible move and assesses the feasibility of some alternatives willing to arrive at Appiano Gentile within just a few days.

The Nerazzurri sporting director will do everything possible to provide Chivu with a defender before the start of training camp, considering the spots left vacant by the departures of Acerbi and De Vrij and Akanji’s commitment to the World Cup. Even more important will be to give the coach a reinforcement of the right caliber.

It is not ruled out that in the end the chosen one will be Chalobah himself, who is currently playing in the World Cup in the United States with England. Inter could also decide to wait until the end of the English national team’s adventure before showing up in London with an offer and trying to get their hands on the player’s contract.
