Inter continues to monitor Trevoh Chalobah to strengthen the defensive department, but the final push has yet to arrive. A clear line emerges from the Nerazzurri headquarters: wait without rushing the timing of the operation.
According to Corriere dello Sport, sources from Viale della Liberazione emphasize that the English defender is not the only option on the management’s list. Evaluating multiple profiles allows the club to move without pressure regarding the Chelsea center-back.
There is also a practical reason behind the lack of urgency. Even if the agreement were to be finalized soon, Chalobah would still not be available in time for the Italian Champions’ Asian tour, scheduled for the end of the month. The team will depart after the training days at Appiano Gentile and the stop in Germany, making it essentially pointless to accelerate before that deadline.
For now, Chivu will have to do without new defensive additions in the initial phase of preparation. The Nerazzurri strategy remains focused on other fronts, with the center-back issue set to remain open in the coming weeks.
