Even in the upcoming January transfer window, the name of Davide Frattesi seems ready to return forcefully to the center of the debate. The midfielder, who arrived at Inter amid great expectations, continues to find himself in an increasingly marginal position in Chivu‘s rotations, and this has inevitably reignited the interest of several clubs, both Italian and foreign. Leading the pack is Juventus, which in recent weeks is said to have reestablished contact with the player’s entourage.

According to Tuttosport, agent Beppe Riso reportedly showed up at Continassa for what was officially described as a simple courtesy visit, but which in reality could hide the first signs of a possible approach. The contractual and technical situation of the midfielder has indeed become increasingly complex: Frattesi is finding very little playing time and in Inter’s hierarchy he has slipped to the very bottom of the midfield pecking order.

A paradox, considering that last summer Chivu was instrumental in convincing him to stay, rejecting very concrete offers from the Premier League, particularly from Newcastle and Nottingham Forest. Today, however, the picture is completely different: in the coach’s preferences, Frattesi has been overtaken even by the new arrivals Sucic and Zielinski, and even talks for a possible contract renewal until 2030 have been put on hold.

From a tactical point of view, Juventus’ possible switch to a 4-2-3-1 formation — a system recently tested even in the friendly against Pafos — would make a player with Frattesi’s characteristics particularly functional to the project. The former Sassuolo player also looks favorably on a context where he could become central again, especially since with Luciano Spalletti in the national team he found the best version of himself.

The player’s intention therefore seems to be oriented towards considering new paths, but a crucial issue remains: Inter’s financial demands. So far, the Nerazzurri club has never opened up to figures below 35 million euros, a valuation considered excessive by many observers, especially for a player who at the moment does not represent a cornerstone of the technical project. The market, however, can change quickly — and Frattesi could be one of the names destined to liven up the January window.
