But what did Giuseppe Marotta and Florentino Pérez talk about? This is probably the most popular question among Inter fans in recent days. The meeting between the two presidents in Madrid has inevitably sparked the imagination of the Nerazzurri supporters, who are always keen to pick up on any transfer market clues. And while fans dream of headline signings on social media, Sport Mediaset has shone the spotlight on one name: Eduardo Camavinga.
“While fans have gone wild over profiles that are more tantalizing like Rodrygo, Arda Guler, or Endrick, the real name that could interest the Nerazzurri, according to reports from Spain, is much more substantial: Eduardo Camavinga. Born in 2002, a regular for the French national team, Real bought him five summers ago for 35 million and after three seasons as a regular starter, in the last two he has had fewer appearances, partly due to a couple of recurring injuries, though still managing around 35-40 games per season. A player of the highest level and physically sound, but Mou does not see him as untouchable.”
The figures and the “Stankovic risk”
But pay attention to the figures. The approximately 60 million requested by Real Madrid make the operation extremely complicated for Inter’s parameters. That’s why, according to Sport Mediaset, the possible arrival of Camavinga could be linked to a major sacrifice, that of Aleksandar Stankovic, who remains one of the most attractive profiles to cash in on and finance the transfer market.
“However, the Blancos’ valuation is daunting: not less than 60 million. It’s true that in that area of the pitch Chivu has asked for reinforcements, hence the previous interest in Manu Koné (Roma) and the still very current interest in Curtis Jones (Liverpool), but such figures seem far from the Nerazzurri’s reach, even beyond any advantageous formula that the good relations between Marotta and Perez could guarantee. Also because at the moment Inter are still working with Atalanta for Marco Palestra, an investment that—if successful—promises to be very expensive.”
Not to mention that in midfield, with the likely confirmation of Calhanoglu, the upcoming renewal of Mkhitaryan, and the return of Stankovic, there is little room even considering the departures of Frattesi and Asllani. It would be a different story if the Serbian were ultimately sacrificed to raise funds: at that point, Camavinga could really become the famous “media coup” that Oaktree wants to give to the fans.”
