Inter is working on Cristian Romero, the Argentine defender from Tottenham who is currently playing at the World Cup with his national team. The Nerazzurri club is looking for an experienced center-back and the 1998-born player, who has already played in Italy for Juventus and Atalanta, has the required qualities.

According to Gianluigi Longari, journalist and transfer market expert for Sportitalia, the defender could leave London as early as this transfer window: “As already revealed, there are ongoing moves for Romero’s exit as he wants to leave Tottenham. Inter is working on it but only if the costs are reduced. Cuti would welcome the Nerazzurri option. Barcelona will only take action in case of departures in their defensive department,” the journalist wrote on his Twitter profile.

The key to the deal, therefore, lies in the financial demands of the Spurs: the Milanese club will continue contacts only if there is a significant reduction in the figures. The player’s interest in joining the Nerazzurri is confirmed, while Barcelona remains on standby, but will only step in after possible departures in their own defensive department.
