Mauro Icardi leaves Galatasaray without compensation and could return to play in Serie A. Alfredo Pedullà revealed an episode dating back to January, when the Argentine striker had reached a verbal agreement with Juventus before the match against Parma.

During a videoconference, the former Nerazzurri player had expressed full availability: “I’ll come until June almost at zero cost and I’ll talk to Galatasaray myself to get released since my contract is expiring.” The deal seemed close to completion, but the Bianconeri later changed strategy and stepped back.

The journalist, speaking on his own YouTube channel, gave a clear opinion on the opportunity represented by the striker: “On a free transfer, for me it would be a bargain. He’s 33 but physically fit, there are few strikers who see the goal like he does.” An explicit invitation to Italian clubs to consider the free transfer.

It remains to be seen whether any Serie A club will decide to bet on the Argentine striker, who after years abroad could thus return to the league where he made his mark with the Nerazzurri shirt.
