Romero and Jones, the conditions to finalize the Nerazzurri deals

Liverpool continues to ask for around forty million euros for Curtis Jones. An amount considered excessive by the Nerazzurri management, especially considering that the player’s contract expires in 2027. The option leading to the English midfielder, already activated last January, remains open but the path is uphill.

According to Corriere dello Sport, Jones has already given preference to the Nerazzurri. The Oaktree ownership would be ready to authorize a significant expenditure, but first, departures are needed. If Andy Diouf is now to be considered a winger, the management at Viale della Liberazione will have to place the likes of Frattesi, Asllani, and Akinsanmiro. Only at that point would there be room for a new face in midfield.

A similar situation applies to Cristian Romero. The signing of John Stones, who arrived on a free transfer, does not definitively rule out the arrival of the Argentine defender. The deal could be revived only in the event of the sale of Benjamin Pavard, for whom, at the moment, no concrete offers have ever arrived at headquarters.

Moreover, both the Spurs and Romero would have to lower their financial demands. Piero Ausilio hopes to reach the second half of August with the right resources in hand for bargains. The transfer market is unlikely to close without a real coup, but everything will depend on the departures the club manages to finalize in the coming weeks.
