Benjamin Pavard is working to regain a place at Inter after spending last season on loan at Marseille. The Nerazzurri club has not received any offers for the French defender, who now has a serious chance of being “a new added reinforcement in defense, in addition to the arrival of Stones.”
The player stated this on the day of the fitness tests at Coni and confirmed it with his attitude in the friendlies and training sessions during the first days of the new season. He has shown maximum availability towards Chivu and a willingness to reconnect with his teammates, as also evidenced by some clues left on social media.
At the moment, the Nerazzurri squad is numerically complete in defense, but on several occasions, the role of Pavard has been highlighted as a “stopper” to unlock the arrival of Romero and guarantee the club from Viale Liberazione a portion of the funds to reinvest in reinforcements. For Chivu, the former Bayern player is useful in the defensive package as a right center-back, where there is also Bisseck, on whom the club is strongly relying as demonstrated by his contract renewal, and who, if necessary, can also cover the other two roles in the three-man defense.
Therefore, the Frenchman’s stay is likely, although last-minute transfer market developments cannot be ruled out, as happened a year ago, when the closing of the transfer window can define some situations that remained unresolved throughout the summer.
