Longhi points to Perisic as reinforcement for the wing: the market prediction

The name of Ivan Perisic is once again circulating as a possible reinforcement for the right wing. Reviving the idea is Bruno Longhi, who on X indicated the Croatian as a solution for the Nerazzurri’s transfer market.

“I think that at the end of the transfer window, or even before, Inter will turn to Ivan Perisic,” wrote the journalist. This prediction stems from the difficulties in finding a convincing profile at sustainable costs. Longhi then added the main reason: “He costs nothing and in the wing-back role he still has something to offer despite his age.”

The reference is to the possibility of relying on an experienced player, already known to the club, capable of playing the full-back role. Perisic knows San Siro and the five-man system. Even at 37, his versatility continues to be an asset: he can play on the right, on the left, push up as a winger, and drop back as a wing-back.

The club is evaluating several profiles to provide Cristian Chivu with a wide player able to guarantee pace, physicality, and balance. The right wing remains one of the most delicate departments after the departure of Denzel Dumfries.

The financial aspect still needs to be clarified, because Perisic is under contract with PSV until 2027. For the deal to become a low-cost opportunity, a favorable formula or a concrete opening from the Dutch club would be needed.
