L’Inter changes strategy: from the wing to the center-back after the opportunity from Tottenham

The market priorities of Inter have undergone a significant shift compared to the initial plans. While at the end of May the Nerazzurri management was focused on searching for a right winger to replace Dumfries, with Palestra and Khalaili among the profiles being followed, today the scenario is completely different.

According to Tuttosport, the club had identified the purchase of one or two central defenders as necessary, considering the departures of Acerbi, De Vrij, and Darmian. The exact number of reinforcements in that role will depend on the recovery of Pavard.

Despite these needs, in the first phase of the summer the club had decided to move first on the right flank. The turning point came with Tottenham‘s proposal for Romero. The Argentine center-back is considered by Chivu and the management to be a reinforcement capable of further increasing defensive solidity, so much so that Inter has completely revised its market strategies.
