After the failed negotiations with Inter, Anan Khalaili has returned to training with Union Saint-Gilloise. The Belgian club will play tomorrow in the Champions League qualifier against Bodo/Glimt and has informed the Israeli winger that, until an agreement is reached with another club, he is considered an integral part of the squad.
The negative outcome of the medical examinations in Italy blocked the transfer to the Nerazzurri. Those close to him spoke of “a difficult psychological collapse” suffered by the player: “He already considered himself an Inter player, and then everything fell apart.” The family consulted with medical experts, who clarified that Khalaili can play in any European league except the Italian one, where complications are found that do not exist elsewhere. This opinion helped to reassure the player somewhat, reports Israeli Hayom.
Meanwhile, there is no shortage of interest from the Premier League. Nottingham Forest made a €20 million offer, which was rejected by Saint-Gilloise. The player’s choice will not be easy, but the outcome of the medical examinations in Italy should not influence his next destination. After consulting the experts, Khalaili would have undergone checks in any other continental league.
