On the official Shakhtar channels, defender Bondar commented on the defeat against Inter in the Champions League, focusing in particular on the goal that decided the match.
“Goals can always be avoided, especially unnecessary ones. But we lost the ball and didn’t have time to reorganize. A good pass ended up behind my back, the opponent got through and scored,” said the player, reconstructing the dynamics of the action that led to the goal.
Bondar then recalled the missed opportunities by his team in the first half: “In the first half we had two set pieces and two shots, one of which was very dangerous. It’s a game made up of moments: they scored and we didn’t.” A clear regret, but without excessive recriminations.
Looking ahead to the next challenges in the European competition, the defender outlined the lesson to be learned from the evening: “Don’t make mistakes to avoid disappointing defeats, even against teams like Inter.”
