The gap between Inter and Liverpool for Curtis Jones has narrowed to just five million euros. The English midfielder remains at the top of Cristian Chivu‘s wish list, who has long identified him as the ideal profile. The management has been working for months to bridge the gap with the Reds, and now the agreement seems closer than ever.

According to Tuttosport, the question that Inter fans are asking is clear: why, after saying goodbye to Frattesi, hasn’t Inter closed the deal yet? In fact, between the 30 million guaranteed by the Milanese club and the 35 now requested by Liverpool, only five million are missing. Yet the directors are waiting for the conditions to be certain and for the definitive go-ahead from Oaktree.

The American ownership, considering the 35 million deficit between income and expenses in this market, would prefer to finalize the departure of Luis Henrique first. Inter could already make another move for Jones, but the management still feels calm and is waiting, hoping to secure a further discount from Liverpool.

Yesterday, there were also rumors about Chiesa being linked to Inter, but the Italian wants to stay at Anfield. Meanwhile, Chivu and Jones themselves are pushing to speed things up, in order to avoid an incredible disappointment and the risk of postponing everything to 2027.
