Jones and Liverpool, negotiations still at a standstill: three departures needed

The negotiations between Inter and Liverpool for Curtis Jones remain stalled. According to Tuttosport, the Nerazzurri club has pushed up to 35 million euros, including bonuses, but has not obtained the go-ahead from the Reds, who continue to demand 40 million despite the midfielder’s contract expiring in 2027.

Jones’s summer has been marked by several incidents: an on-field argument over not being given the captain’s armband, the refusal of a transfer to Nottingham Forest, and ongoing opposition to a contract renewal. His exclusion from the last match against Bournemouth sparked debate: according to the English press, the player was not risked as a precaution, but on social media, Liverpool fans were divided over the decision. Jones has pledged himself to Inter since January and has so far maintained his stance.

In Milan, they are confident that in the decisive phase of the transfer market, Liverpool may lower their demands. However, to make the final move, the Nerazzurri management will have to free up three midfield spots. One operation is simple: loaning out the Frenchman Massolin. The others concern Asllani and especially Frattesi, whose sale, perhaps even on a paid loan with an option to buy, would help balance the books.

The club still has around forty million to invest, but will also need to buy a right winger to complete the right flank with Diouf.
