Diaby towards Bayer Leverkusen, agreement close for 30 million

Inter risks losing another transfer target. After Cristian Romero, Moussa Diaby also seems destined to slip away: the French winger is getting closer to a return to the Bundesliga, specifically to Bayer Leverkusen.

According to Bild, the German sports daily, an agreement has been reached between Diaby‘s representatives and the German club. The Frenchman would sign a contract until 2031, with a salary of 6 million euros per year plus bonuses. Only one last detail remains to be defined before the deal is finalized.

Negotiations between Leverkusen and Al Ittihad, the winger’s current team, are reportedly nearing completion. The transfer should be finalized for a fee below 30 million euros. The severance pay for Diaby, who earns over 10 million euros net per season in Saudi Arabia, still needs to be determined.

The Nerazzurri have been following the winger since last January and would have reconsidered the deal only under certain conditions. A possible renewed interest would have been possible if the Saudis had accepted either Kristjan Asllani or Benjamin Pavard as a technical counterpart.
