According to Corriere dello Sport, Matteo Darmian is among the names being considered by Bologna to replace Emil Holm. The Swedish defender was injured in the Nations League during the match against Romania, suffering a muscle injury that may require surgery.

Darmian, who became a free agent this summer after leaving Inter, would represent an experienced solution to address the emergency in that position. Although he will turn 37 in December, the former Nerazzurri player offers interesting qualities for the new coach Palladino.

The Italian defender’s versatility is his main strength: he can play both as a full-back and in a back three, fitting perfectly into the Felsinei’s system of play. Experience and versatility are the qualities that the Rossoblu management is considering to deal with the possible prolonged absence of Holm.
