The entourage of Francesco Acerbi has initiated contact with Sassuolo in recent hours. For the defender born in 1988, who became a free agent after his contract with Inter expired, a possible return to Emilia is on the horizon. Acerbi has already worn the black and green jersey for a total of 173 appearances between 2013 and 2018, leaving an excellent impression.

The news was reported by Fabrizio Romano through his YouTube channel. Both Acerbi and Matteo Darmian, who are both free agents, continue to receive concrete offers from various clubs. Despite not being very young—born in 1988 and 1989 respectively—the two former Nerazzurri do not intend to retire yet and are considering opportunities to continue their careers.

As for Darmian, the versatile Milanese player has received expressions of interest from Torino, Udinese, and Venezia. The full-back, fresh from his Inter experience which ended in June, is evaluating the different options before making a final decision about his future.

Both players left Milan on a free transfer, nevertheless confirming their value on the market despite their advanced age by professional football standards.
