The technical qualities of Andy Diouf are not in question, but the issue of Denzel Dumfries‘s replacement remains unresolved. This, in summary, is the position expressed by Fabrizio Biasin after the summer friendly played by Inter in Germany, in which the young player stood out with a brace in stoppage time.
“A shot from 30 meters and a curling shot. Two moves that demonstrate excellent technique,” the journalist declared to Radio Sportiva. According to Biasin, Diouf possesses unique characteristics within the Nerazzurri squad and can – indeed, must – be part of the roster. “He can and must play in the Inter squad because these characteristics are not present in the Inter group. And if you have this kind of play, you are up to the task,” he added.
However, the central issue is another: transforming the young talent into a complete right-sided winger, a role that is anything but simple. “And this is the great mission of Chivu and his collaborators, particularly Mario Cecchi (the one who transformed Denzel Dumfries into a top-level all-round winger),” Biasin explained. The feeling is that Diouf is embracing the project, but a single positive performance is not enough to solve the problem on the flank. “I continue to believe that Inter is looking for a right winger because they cannot start the season without certainties,” he emphasized.
On the transfer front, the journalist gave an update on the Cristian Romero situation. “Inter is trying for Romero, there is an agreement with the player and his entourage. Let’s say this is a matter for mid-August,” he stated. The deal can only go through if Tottenham lowers its financial demands. “Most fans have understood that it’s not that we don’t want to sign players. We have to wait. In August, many things will probably happen, mostly concentrated in the last 15 days,” Biasin concluded on Radio Sportiva.
