From the training camp in Germany comes the voice of Piotr Zielinski, the first player to speak to journalists ahead of the new season. The Polish midfielder touched on several topics, from seasonal objectives to his integration into the Nerazzurri group.

The goals of Inter are clear: to repeat themselves in the league and in the Coppa Italia, and above all to improve their run in the Champions League. “The ambitions are high. If we want to repeat ourselves in the league, Coppa Italia and if we want to do something more in the Champions League because we have a great team and in the CL we have to do better than last year,” declared the Pole. A message in line with what president Marotta and coach Chivu have reiterated, who do not hide their objectives.

Zielinski also spoke about his personal ambitions: “I always want to improve and give my contribution and try to score more goals and provide more assists to help the team win. Each of us has different characteristics and we cover each other well, we have a lot of quality.” The midfielder focused on the wealth of the Nerazzurri midfield, full of talent and experience.

On his journey in the Nerazzurri shirt, the Pole took stock: “The first year, due to injuries and little continuity, was affected by injuries. We start again from the second year, when the real Zielinski was seen: I hope to improve even more and be even more decisive.”

Words of praise for the new arrival Stankovic: “It was immediately clear that he has excellent qualities: you could see right away in training that he is an excellent player. He has quality, legs, physical strength, we need such qualities in midfield, he will definitely give his contribution. He is a great player.”

On the topic of the title race, Zielinski remains cautious: “There are some very strong teams that will fight with us. There are many changes, it’s still too early to say who will be fighting for the title. But there will definitely be 3-4 teams.” Despite this, the midfielder does not hide: “I’m not hiding either, we all know how great it is to win and we will try to do everything to win again in the league, the Coppa Italia and to do better in the CL.”

Finally, a comment on the World Cup final: “We have one of our teammates there so we will be cheering for him,” referring to Lautaro Martinez. “Even though in the past I also played with Ruiz. It will be a beautiful match: we are cheering for Argentina, for Lauti who was decisive in the semifinal and I wish him the decisive goal in the final as well, he deserves it. He is a great player, a leader, I hope he wins his second World Cup.”
