After discovering the extent of Lautaro Martinez’s injury, there is now fresh news on the condition of Denzel Dumfries. The Inter winger, just like the Argentine striker, underwent instrumental examinations this morning to assess his condition following discomfort in his right thigh, sustained near the end of the match won against Atalanta in Bergamo.
According to Sky Sport, Dumfries has sustained a thigh strain in the biceps femoris muscle of his right leg. The Dutch player will therefore be re-evaluated next week for further updates, and will miss Sunday’s match against Udinese. Consequently, it appears highly unlikely that he will recover sufficiently to be available for selection for Milan-Inter, the first-leg semifinal derby of the Coppa Italia, scheduled for Wednesday, April 2.
It is also very likely that Dumfries will remain unavailable for the away Serie A match in Parma. Meanwhile, Inter’s medical staff will do everything they can to ensure he is fully fit and ready for coach Simone Inzaghi ahead of the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinal against Bayern Munich.
