Inter has expressed its condolences to Luciano Spalletti for the passing of his mother Ilva. The message of sympathy was shared through the Nerazzurri club’s X profile, on behalf of president Giuseppe Marotta and the entire organization.

Spalletti led the Nerazzurri bench for two seasons, from 2017 to 2019. He was the one who brought the team back to the Champions League after several years of absence from Europe’s top competition.

“President Giuseppe Marotta and all of FC Internazionale Milano express their condolences and stand close to Luciano Spalletti and his family for the passing of his mother Ilva,” reads the official statement published by the club.
