This weekend we return to the field again after the last 2024 break for the national teams. A Serie A that we had left with the controversies generated by the match between Inter and Napoli for the penalty whistled to the Nerazzurri on the Dumfries-Anguissa contact, which furthermore did not affect the final result due to Calhanoglu’s penalty miss.

Especially in the past week, on the emotional wave of Antonio Conte’s outburst at the end of the match, the referee controversies continued for days. Initially, news had even emerged about a possible temporary ‘relegation’ to Serie B by the AIA regarding the Inter-Napoli referee, Maurizio Mariani.

According to the official designations for the thirteenth day, however, this thesis has been decisively dismantled. For Mariani it was decided a rest turn as a field referee, but the same whistle from the Aprilia section will still be busy next Serie A weekend. The match director, in fact, was designated on Saturday as the AVar of Parma-Atalanta, and on Sunday as the Var manager of Como-Fiorentina.
