At the microphones of DAZN, Stankovic commented on his performance with a phrase that sums up his philosophy: “I always enjoy helping the team, especially in difficult moments, when I saw my teammates tired. Now we have the next match ahead of us.” The Venezia goalkeeper delivered another high-level performance, once again proving to be one of the best on the field.
Decisive also on the penalty kick: “I knew that De Bruyne would go for the close shot. The last one I saved was against Lukaku, the team needs me and when I am ready, it is the greatest satisfaction.” On coach Nicola‘s work, the 2002-born player added: “He gave us instructions and grit, we prepared well and suffered as a team.”
In the background remains the contractual issue with Inter: in the transfer to Venezia, the Nerazzurri included a clause that grants the Milan club 50% of any future resale of the player, thus maintaining a connection with the goalkeeper and the possibility to evaluate future scenarios.
