Serena: Inter and Serie A cannot compete with the English figures

Aldo Serena analyzed the current situation of Inter and Serie A, highlighting the now unbridgeable economic gap with the Premier League. Speaking to Corriere della Sera, the former Nerazzurri striker emphasized how the amounts spent by English clubs make any direct comparison in the market impossible.

“Morgan Rogers went from Aston Villa to Chelsea for 138 million: our Serie A and Inter cannot compete with economic realities that are vastly different from ours,” said Serena. “Fans are waiting for a couple of names to dream of a second Scudetto and a more honorable run in the Champions League.”

According to the former striker, the way to remain competitive is through alternative strategies. “Getting there before the others. We need scouting that covers the whole world, made up of skilled and capable experts who can spot talents and close deals quickly,” he explained.

The reference to young Nerazzurri talents was direct: “Ingenuity and creativity are needed to develop new homegrown players like Pio Esposito and Aleksandar Stankovic, while at the same time keeping an eye on all latitudes.
