Between Friday and Sunday, very important news arrived at Inter’s home regarding the future of the season: first there was the draw for the last sixteen and the Champions League bracket, then the overtaking of Napoli in the Serie A, just a week before the direct clash. These two moments have reignited Inter’s ambitions.
Indeed, Inter believes in the double objective and wants to aim to go all the way in both competitions, without making choices. This is reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, which highlights how Inzaghi’s team is exactly where it hoped to be at the beginning of the season. This is due to wise planning, despite the slight drop in form in February.
However, according to the Rosea, to aim for the Champions League and the Scudetto, two essential conditions must occur in the coming weeks. The first is a change of pace in the direct clashes: in March, after the away game at Napoli, there will also be one at Atalanta’s home. The other concerns the physical aspect and, in particular, the form of Thuram, Lautaro Martinez and Calhanoglu.
These three players are indispensable and irreplaceable for Inzaghi. If the Inter players manage to have them at their best in this end of the season, then the double mission, Italian and European, might not just be a dream.
