The direct clash against Napoli is less than a week away, but before that Inter has another commitment: the quarterfinals of the Italian Cup against Lazio. The Nerazzurri don’t want to leave any competition behind, but tomorrow several players might rest in preparation for the Scudetto challenge at Maradona.
As reported by La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inzaghi has already chosen the path of substantial rotation, with several key players resting, at a time in the season when regaining energy becomes crucial.
Josep Martinez will still be in the goal, while in defense a new trio will take center stage: Darmian-De Vrij-Bisseck, who are returning to the field after several weeks. In midfield, Frattesi and Zielinski should be back in the starting lineup, with Calhanoglu on the field after coming off the bench last Saturday.
Dimarco will also rest, with Zalewski starting for the first time, while Dumfries should be there. Up front, the duo will be Taremi-Arnautovic, as was the case against Udinese in the Italian Cup last December.
