The loan experience for Tomas Palacios at Monza did not start in the best way. Against Lazio, the Argentine defender indeed secured his second consecutive start, but it came with yet another defeat and a poor performance.
At the Olympic Stadium, the Brianzoli team collapsed in the second half after falling behind in the first part of the match, with some responsibility falling on the defender on loan from Inter. Palacios, in fact, missed Marusic’s movement, remaining very static, much like the rest of Monza’s defense, and allowing a simple tap-in by the Biancocelesti winger.
In the second half, there was no contest, with the Argentine center-back sinking without a fight along with the rest of his teammates. A 5-1 defeat that will likely result in the sacking of Bocchetti, with the probable return of Nesta for which only the announcement seems to be missing, as anticipated by Gianluca Di Marzio. Therefore, it remains to be seen whether Palacios will continue to find a place under him, despite two fairly difficult games.
