At the microphones of Sky Sport, Giuseppe Marotta dedicated a remembrance to Sandro Mazzola, who passed away yesterday at the age of 83. A heartfelt thought for a figure who marked the history of the Nerazzurri.
“A piece of Nerazzurri history, a legend who leaves us. A player who wore only one jersey for 17 years, a great professional, a whole life with Inter, first as a footballer and then as an executive,” he declared. An extremely long career, entirely spent with the Nerazzurri shirt, first on the field and later in managerial roles.
“It is up to us to preserve his memory today, a great club is able to do so. As a child he gave me emotions in black and white but also on trading cards, then as a young manager I negotiated with him the Recoba deal, I have wonderful memories,” added Marotta. He also recalled the professional relationship with Mazzola, mentioning the negotiation that brought the Uruguayan to the Nerazzurri.
