According to Corriere dello Sport, Chivu is ready to return to the 3-5-2 after having changed the formation in the derby against Milan. The main issue to resolve concerns the midfield, where the most delicate evaluations are being made ahead of the next match.
In attack, Pio Esposito seems favored to partner with Thuram: the striker has recovered from the flu and is back before Bonny. Barella and Zielinski should be confirmed, while the main doubt concerns the third midfield spot: Calhanoglu or Mkhitaryan.
For the Turkish player, the possibility of a rest initially seemed the most likely, but in a match where ball possession and build-up play are crucial, his inclusion is back under consideration, also given that he already started in the derby and will be needed later against Como. If Calha takes the field, Zielinski would move to the left central midfielder role.
On the right flank, Diouf has to deal with the advantage gained by Spence, who put in a convincing performance in the derby. The defense, on the other hand, has no uncertainties: with Bastoni suspended, the trio will be made up of Bisseck, Akanji and Carlos Augusto. Dimarco will patrol the left flank, while in goal there will be Pepo Martinez: Provedel has recovered from the flu and will be on the bench. Pavard returns to the squad. Youngsters Bovio, Mosconi, Lavelli and Stabile are included in the group.
