The defeat of Inter against Bruges in the Champions League prompted a reflection from Graziani, former striker of Torino and Roma, who spoke to Radio Sportiva. His judgment is clear and starts from a comparison of pace which, according to him, determined the course of the match.
“I watched Inter’s match and I can tell you that those from Bruges were going at twice the speed. If Inter were going at 30 per hour, they were going at 90,” said the former striker.
The central point of his analysis concerns the difference in intensity between Italian football and European football. “I’m worried about the difference in pace: in Italy we play at a slower pace, in Europe it’s faster,” Graziani explained, highlighting how the Nerazzurri alternated good phases of play with moments of inconsistency.
“Inter at times played well, but they weren’t consistent. If you don’t score when you have chances, the others will punish you,” he concluded.
