Cristian Chivu had anticipated it in the pre-season press conference: the intention is to use Andy Diouf as a full-fledged winger. This is not an absolute novelty, since the Frenchman mainly played that role last season, delivering good performances and contributing with goals and assists.

According to Corriere dello Sport, in the intentions of the coach and the Nerazzurri club, Diouf would represent the alternative to the starter that Inter hopes to identify on the market as soon as possible. This solution would definitively free up a spot in midfield, without necessarily having to sacrifice Luis Henrique.

With the definitive move of the former Lens player to the right wing, the Brazilian could be shifted to the left flank as deputy to Federico Dimarco, while Carlos Augusto would be moved permanently to the role of deputy-Bastoni.

This would be a less unprecedented hypothesis than one might think: at Marseille, under De Zerbi’s guidance, Luis Henrique had already played several times on the opposite side. The Brazilian’s future, however, remains linked to possible market offers, which would be considered, but does not depend exclusively on the tactical evolution of Diouf. Should both remain, the Italian champions would find themselves using the two alternatives to the starting wingers in midfield with their inverted foot.
