Six seasons in the Nerazzurri have come to an end for Matteo Darmian, who initially arrived amid general skepticism and over time became a point of reference for professionalism and versatility. In the interview with Gazzetta dello Sport, the defender spoke about the relationships built over the years with his teammates.
When asked which bonds are destined to last beyond football, Darmian mentioned the entire Italian group. But he also wanted to add a French name: Marcus Thuram. A relationship that went beyond nationalities and that he was able to highlight with a joke.
“He’s French, but deep down he’s a bit Italian too,” said the former Inter full-back. Then the anecdote: “He told me that, after spending so much time on the bench at the World Cup, he felt a bit like Darmian.” A phrase that brought a smile and testifies to the bond built in the Nerazzurri dressing room.
