Inter wins and takes first place in the Serie A standings, tied with Roma after eleven matchdays. To comment on tonight’s victory at home against Lazio, the Nerazzurri coach Cristian Chivu spoke to DAZN microphones. These are his statements:
LAUTARO – “He is doing a lot of hard work and makes himself available to the group. Goals come when you are calm and know you are a leader and a driving force. He always needs to be calm and smile more, he puts a lot of heart into this team, if he scores we are happy but he always leads the group with his work.”
MATCH – “I liked the approach and the desire to be dominant and decisive, we were facing a prepared team that could have put us in trouble at any moment. We understood how to do it and what to bring to the pitch today, very good.”
ROTATIONS – “I care a lot about the group, there are 22 of them and everyone works hard to improve individually and as a group. With all the changes made, you lose a bit of balance and that habit they have of knowing each other by heart, but I am satisfied with what they are doing. They immediately adapted to the team reality and the journey, aware of the room for growth they have.”
DEFENSIVE PHASE – “It’s never easy, when you play every three days, to maintain this attitude. You need to understand the moments and the opportunities that others give you. The credit goes to everyone who gave something extra to the team to earn a bit more rest. Having this kind of approach becomes easier, you need to have energy. Despite the fatigue, you always find a way to be dominant and to follow the coach’s instructions.”
DERBY – “Tonight I’ll enjoy my family, go home and watch some NFL games. I’ll take a few days off and then I’ll have the chance to coach those who stay here. I congratulate those who go to the national team and then there will be a free weekend, I have to decide what to do with my family. When they return, we’ll have two days to prepare for the derby.”
