Speaking to Inter TV, Cristian Chivu analyzed the narrow victory achieved by Inter on the field of Cagliari. The coach emphasized the difficulties in closing out the match despite the chances created: “It’s a problem not being able to finish it off even though we created a lot, we had the patience to understand where and when more intensity was needed.”
The coach highlighted the importance of the three points in terms of the season: “The team was able to breathe again also thanks to the new players who came on, we defended these three points with our nails and teeth because last year we didn’t start with two wins.” Chivu then referred to the players returning from the World Cup: “We want to build up the condition of those who played in the World Cup and are therefore a bit behind. We need to build up their fitness to have them at their best as soon as possible.”
Positive words for Jones, who made his debut: “He made his debut and immediately adapted to the context of the match, everyone did everything to bring home these three points except for the last fifteen minutes.” Regarding the midfield, the coach said he was satisfied with the squad at his disposal: “We have a numerically important and high-quality team, we want to be competitive on all fronts. I want the players to make things difficult for me every week.”
